The Politically Incorrect Show - 29/01/2001

[Music - Die Fledermaus]

Good afternoon, Kaya Oraaa & welcome to the Politically Incorrect Show on the free speech network, Radio Pacific, for Monday January 29, proudly sponsored by Neanderton Nicotine Ltd., the show that says bugger the politicians & bureaucrats & all the other bossyboot busybodies who try to run our lives with our money; that stands tall for free enterprise, achievement, profit, & excellence, against the state-worshippers in our midst; that stands above all for the most sacred thing in the universe, the liberty of the human individual.

[Music up, music down!]

Here's something that came via e-mail last Friday:

"Dear Lindsay,

"I have been an avid listener to your Politically Incorrect show since its start on a Sunday afternoon. Due to work commitments, I rarely get the opportunity to listen in for more than a few minutes at any one time during the week, but I savour the times I get to listen. I have subsequently subscribed to the Free Rad, and am a seriously considering becoming a financial member of Libertarianz.

"I was prompted to contact you after listening to Brendon's (first time) call to your show this Thursday past. He spoke of his delight in discovering your Constitution on the Net. Brendon articulated so well my admiration for your untiring efforts to awaken and liberate the sheeple of this country. What struck me most, however, with Brendon's call, was that I sensed your gratification for having won over another convert. Over the past 4 years, I have listened to your frustration, and almost despair, at the pace of change in the mindset of the sheeple and Brendon was, for you, a triumph. I felt that you must have been thinking 'yes, this IS all worth while, another
victory'.

"I then felt the guilt of having not called to encourage you to continue your fight for the freedom of the individual. Take heart dear Lindsay, I am another of the growing numbers like Brendon, and thank you for your courage of conviction and your persistence against all the odds."

Feedback like this both gratifies & exasperates me. Gratifies, because it's nice to know there is silent support out there; exasperates, because it IS silent! The "odds" against which I "persist" are made so much longer by such inertia. I've said it many times & I'll say it again now - if everyone who ever said to me, "You're right, but you'll never get anywhere" actually mucked in, we WOULD get somewhere quite soon. To such people I say, "You cannot afford for us not to get anywhere. As I remind you every day, the country is awash in state-sponsored racism, extortionate taxes, rampant regulations, dumbed-down education, Politically Correct thought-control, the culture of mediocrity & a generally pervasive Big Motherism. How many years of this will it take for our freedoms to be denied altogether? How much of it will YOU take before you get off your flabby backside? While we still have freedom of speech & association - relatively, at least - we have it in our power to stop the rot & make the country over, to reclaim our rights & place them beyond the clutches of the control-freaks - the Clarks, the Andertons, the Shipleys - of this world; so why are you silent? Why let that power slip away? Why do you deliberately cultivate a state of impotence? While you do, you SHOULD feel guilty ... because of what you are doing to your SELF."

I can sum it all up in one short injunction: If you really want to thank me,
help me.
